Terms of Service
Last updated 8 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Mike Borozdin, who operates Bella Storia. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
Who can use Bella Storia
You must be at least 13 years old to use Bella Storia. If you are under 18, you may only use it with the permission of a parent or guardian.
What Bella Storia is
Bella Storia gives you Italian short stories to read, with word and phrase meanings, sentence translations, grammar notes, and quizzes built into the reader. Stories are graded by CEFR level, from A1 to C2.
The app is currently free. There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will tell you before they apply to you.
Your account
Please give accurate information when you sign up, keep your password to yourself, and let us know if you think someone else has access to your account. Accounts are for one person, and you are responsible for what happens under yours.
Acceptable use
When using Bella Storia, please do not:
- Scrape, bulk-download, or otherwise systematically extract the stories or any other content in the app.
- Copy, republish, resell, or redistribute our content, whether or not you charge for it.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or try to work around any technical limits in the app.
- Interfere with the service, attempt to access other users' accounts or data, or use the app to break the law.
Content and intellectual property
The stories, translations, grammar notes, quizzes, and the app itself are owned by us or licensed to us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your own language learning. That licence ends if your account is closed.
Story illustrations come from Wikimedia Commons and remain subject to the licences of their original authors, which are credited alongside each image. Those images are not covered by the licence we grant you above.
AI-generated content
The stories, translations, and grammar explanations in Bella Storia are generated using AI and reviewed before publication, but they can still contain mistakes, awkward phrasing, or inaccuracies about Italian language and culture. Please treat them as study material rather than as an authoritative reference, and do not rely on them where accuracy matters. Bella Storia is not a substitute for a teacher or a formal course.
Availability and changes
We are working to keep the app running and improving it, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may need to take the service down for maintenance.
Ending this agreement
You can stop using Bella Storia at any time and delete your account from the Settings screen. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to for legal reasons. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first.
Disclaimers and liability
Except where the law says otherwise, the app is provided “as is” and we do not give any warranties about it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data caused by something outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you use Bella Storia as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top of the page shows when they were last revised, and we will tell you in the app if the changes are significant. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your local courts.
